Obituary of Rubel Benavidez

Rubel Benavidez Jr., 82, of Denver, Colorado, died on February 25, 2024. 

Rubel was born in Chama, New Mexico in 1941 to Rev. Rubel and Cidelia Benavidez. After a long career in printmaking, as the owner of Ruby Litho, Rubel enjoyed golfing and trail hiking in the foothills of Colorado. We could not  have asked for a better father and grandfather, and will miss him every day. He will always be remembered for his intelligence, kindness and humble nature. His memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved him. 

Rubel was preceded in death by his parents, Rubel and Cidelia, and his sister Elizabeth Atencio, of Albuquerque, NM. He is survived by his sister Susan Miranda of Hacienda Heights, CA, sister Joanne Hammond of Denver, CO and his brother Rolando of Albuquerque, NM,  his daughters, Rhonda Moore and Rhoda Schultz, son-in-law Craig, 9 grandchildren: Justin, Ashleigh, Marshall, Hunter, Amanda, Craig jr., Levi, Zachary and Claire, and 8 great-grandchildren: Jocelyn, Tristen, Adalyn Jo, Elsy, Milo, Trey, Ivy and Ford; and numerous nieces and nephews.  "He is survived by his sister Susan Miranda of Hacienda Heights, CA, sister Joanne Hammond of Denver, CO and brother Rolando of Albuquerque, NM”

Memorial service will be held on  Monday, March 18 at 10:00am at Faith Church Prayer Chapel, located at 6225 Wright Street, 80004 (Reception to follow in the Atrium.)
