Bonnie Cosette Isgar (Cozy)

December 27, 1931 – August 16,2022

Born in Kendrick, Oklahoma to John Edwin Thompson and Alice Lillian Thompson

Baby of the family with four older siblings: Hazel, Billie, Wanda, and JT. Three sisters have preceded her in death and her brother JT Thompson lives in Sacramento, Ca.

Her Dad was a barber and owned his own shop in Sand Springs, Oklahoma, her mom was a homemaker and took in laundry, baked, and cleaned to make extra money.

 Growing up primarily in Oklahoma, later moving with her mother and two siblings, lived in San Francisco, Denver, and for a while on the Grand Mesa where her favorite thing was riding her horse, Tiny, bareback through the hills and trying to out-do her brother in everything.

After moving to Denver as a young teen, she worked at Lunds Restaurant, Wright & McGill, and Three Sisters a clothing store in downtown Denver in later years, Hatch Drugs and finally for Burlington Coat Factory until she was seventy-seven.

Married to Clarence Jesse Isgar for fifteen years, they have four children, Christine Anderson, Jess Isgar, John Isgar, and Melissa Gonzalez. She was a homemaker and stayed home with her children in their early years.

Although she lived other places, she loved Colorado and always returned to the Denver area, loving the mountains, City Park, the Broncos, and anything to do with Denver.

A faithful Christian, a diligent worker who loved animals, nature, and children. In early years she enjoyed sewing, reading, writing, and read her bible every day, gardening, listening to music and playing her organ.

Her life was not easy, and her health was not good for most of her life however this gave her great empathy for people in need, often helping the homeless and even allowing them to share her home. She had compassion for those who were ill visiting them and going to nursing homes.

While life tried to break her, she loved her children fiercely and adored her eleven grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Her faith in God carried her and she became resilient and independent. Cozy was a funny and entertaining, storyteller, opinionated, strong willed, exasperating, extremely affectionate and loving and will be forever missed by all who knew the true Bonnie Cosette Isgar.
