Obituary of Donna Elaine Bowerman

Donna Elaine Fortik was born March 10, 1936, in Ansley, Nebraska to Emil Fortik and Evelyn Fortik. The family moved to Steamboat Springs, Colorado for the rest of Donna†™s youth. Donna met and married I.D. Bowerman from Hayden, Colorado, on June 12, 1955. Their firstborn, son T.K., was born in 1956. Daughters Crystal, Leslie and Carol followed in 1960, 1964, and 1969, respectively. Donna and I.D. raised their growing family as I.D. worked in construction projects all over the western United States. They eventually settled in Wheat Ridge, Colorado for many years, and were active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, including years attending the Denver 2nd Ward. Donna also spent many years on the Western Slope of Colorado doing one of her favorite things: fishing. Her children survive her: T.K. Bowerman (Peggy), Crystal Bowerman, Leslie Nelson, and Carol Chase. Thirteen grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren also survive her. Donna is also survived by her sister, Marlene Hazen of Dolores, Colorado, and brother Dean Fortik (Ann) of Grand Junction, Colorado. Donna was preceded in death by her sister, Bonnie Israel. Donna passed at the age of 86 on January 24, 2022. Services for her will be held on February 12, 2022 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, located at 6465 W. Jewell Avenue in Lakewood, Colorado, with a viewing at 10:00am, followed by the funeral service at 11:00am. Interment will follow on February 18, 2022 at 1:00pm in the Steamboat Springs Cemetery, Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Call 720-877-4464 for more information.
