Obituary of Jerry Lee Parton

Jerry Lee Parton left this earth March 29 2022. He was greeted at the heavenly gates by his mother Lola, his father Lawrence, and he met for the first time, his eldest Brother Arther Harley, who died in the Philippines when Jerry was only 2 years old. All of his other brothers and sisters, Carl, Kate, Nell, Bryon, Bennett, Roy, Elaine, and Gordon as well as his Grandson Jacob and first wife Karen were also there to greet him and welcome him home. Jerry was born in Greenville, MO, where he attended school in a one room school house with an outhouse in the back. He was initially Taught by his older sister Nell. He later moved to Aurora, CO. and graduated from Aurora Central High School, not sure if they had indoor plumbing. He served his country honorably in the Army. He was an MP at the Fitzsimmons Base from 1966-1968. The same year he completed his service to the Army, in 1968, he was recruited by the Denver Police Department where he would complete a long an honorable career as a credit to his profession. He was a training officer and left his mark on every recruit he worked with. When he retired in 2005 there were 112 active recruits he had trained and mentored, he was very proud of this. He was a Master Welder, and a Colorado small business owner. He was a hard worker and never minded getting his hands dirty with honest work. He loved to cook, and he made the most delicious grilled and, smoked dishes on his Traeger. He would collect recipes, the most famous of them a spaghetti sauce given to him by his army friend at Ft. Hood, although it did have more oregano. He loved to cook for others, always waiting to eat after everyone else had their fill. He enjoyed people enjoying his food. He was an artist and photographer. His patience by nature and his patience as a police officer helped him wait for the most beautiful and breathtaking photos. Jerry married the love of his life Eve Tanguma, on March 13, 1976. Together they raised six children. Five J†™s and a D, James, Jeanette, Joann, Joyce, Jody, and Duane. He has 16 grandkids and 7 great grandkids. And he loves and cherishes them all. He would†™ve been just fine having them around every day. Jerry passed away in his sleep, peacefully, next to the love of his life. We should all be so lucky.
