Obituary of Mary Geraldine Dershem

Mary Dershem Obituary Mary (Gerry) Geraldine Dershem, born January 29, 1932, died April 19, 2022 in her home in Arvada Colorado at the age of 90. She was born on the family farm in Fulton County, Ohio to parents Gordon and Beatrice (Musselman) Chambers. Gerry was a proud graduate of Bowling Green State University, with a major in Home Economics. She traveled to Norway with the IFYE program in her early 20s. She was a Home Economics teacher for several years. She married James Dershem, her husband of 59 years on October 20, 1956. He preceded her in death. Gerry was a 4-H member and leader, and a leader of several Girl Scout Troops. She was a lifelong giver to many charity organizations. Her hobbies included cooking, sewing and gardening. She is survived by her 4 children, Daughters Anita Hatalsky residing in Coal Valley IL, and Celeste Sigala residing in Roswell, NM, and sons Terrence Dershem residing in Wapakoneta, OH and Philip Dershem residing in Chiang Mai, Thailand. She had 3 grandsons, Derek and Parker Kniffin, and Jackson Dershem. She has 2 remaining siblings, Shirley Stahl residing in Michigan and Daniel Chambers residing in Liberty Center. Ohio.
