Ruth Cloven

Obituary of Ruth Horabin Cloven

On April 23rd, 2022, Ruth Horabin Cloven died at the age of 95.  She passed away very peacefully in her home in Bailey, Colorado.

Ruth is survived by her husband, George Cloven, her two children, Bill Cloven Deuschle of Santa Fe, New Mexico and Deborah Suitor of Conifer, Colorado.  She also is survived by multiple grandchildren and great grandchildren, whom she loved dearly.

Ruth was born on February 14th, 1927, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where she grew up.  She attended college at the University of California at Berkley and had a brief career in the medical field following college.  She was married to William Deuschle for several years and had a delightful son, William Arden Deuschle.  They later divorced and she went on to meet George Cloven with whom she had a daughter, Deborah Ruth Cloven.

Ruth had a passionate love of animals, and she shared that love with all that knew her. Her career was a varied path with her husband George, developing and manufacturing various gift products and selling those products throughout Colorado.  She and George published three children’s’ books about the adventures of their pet raccoon, Stanleigh and she loved to educate kids about the need to love and respect wildlife and learn to live alongside the animals.  This was always her passion.

Ruth was a classy, charming, passionate lady and always looked beautiful.  She lives on in all our hearts by every kind gesture we put forth.
