Obituary of Edna Marie Knoll

KNOLL, Edna Marie, (Ochs), age 91, formerly of Commerce City and Thornton, Colorado passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2022, of natural causes. Edna was a member of Our Lady Mother of the Church Parish in Commerce City, and Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Parish in Thornton. At Our Lady Mother of the Church, she had been a sponsor for many individuals through Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA), a Eucharistic Minister, volunteer at the food and clothing bank, and maintained the indoor plants at the Parish. She was employed at Samsonite Corporation from 1949 until she retired in 1978. Edna was an accomplished gardener, an avid polka dancer belonging to Denver Kickers, candy maker and baker, beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend who liked spending time with those she loved. She found joy in camping and boating with her son and traveling through the mid-west to polka dances and sightseeing. Preceded in death by her parents Kasper and Elizabeth Ochs (Waldman), her husband of 36 years, Richard Knoll, her son Ronald Knoll, two sisters, Dorothy Johnson and Coletta Brungardt, and brother, Marvin Ochs. She is survived by two sisters, Lillian Spanyers of Oakley, Kansas, and Verena Nance of Moore, Oklahoma, numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. The Mass of Christian Burial service will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Parish on Thursday, June 9, 2022, 11385 Grant Drive, Northglenn, Colorado; Rosary at 10:30 AM, Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM, and burial following at approximately 1:00 PM in Elmwood Cemetery, 14800 Old Brighton Road, Brighton, Colorado 80601.
