Obituary of Daniel Allen Black

Daniel (Dan) Allen Black July 10, 1976-June 9, 2022- Age 45 Daniel Allen Black was born on July 10, 1976, to David and Deborah Black in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He graduated from Wheat Ridge High School in 1994. He proudly served his country in the Army Reserves where he received his nursing training. After serving, he returned to Colorado to work as a nurse. On December 17, 2003, his daughter Vanessa †œNick†� Black was born. Daniel met his life-love Robin Hartman in 2005. They were married in a beachside wedding on August 11, 2007, at Scripps Park, La Jolla, California. Dan truly enjoyed helping people in his job and outside of work. He was a dedicated husband, father, and pet-dad. He loved spending time and traveling with his family. He was a life-long Detroit Lions fan and faithfully followed his Colorado Avalanche. His smile lit up the room even during the worst of times. He had the biggest heart and he shared it with everyone he met. Dan was preceded in death by his mother Deborah Bender, his sister Jennifer Laubhan, his grandmother Joann Black, and his grandfather Gilbert Crooks. He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Robin Hartman of Westminster, Colorado, his daughter Vanessa †œNick†� Black of Westminster, Colorado, his father Dave (Sheryl) Black of Ft. Mill, South Carolina, brother Joseph Black of Macon, Georgia, sister Elizabeth Black of New Haven, Connecticut, grandmother Georgeanne Featherstone of Winterset, Iowa, grandfather Robert Black of Royal Oak, Michigan, parent-in-laws Reggie (Jeanette) Vrbas of Atwood, Kansas, sister-in-law Michele (Brian) McNulty of Manhattan, Kansas, nephews Garett and Keigan McNulty of Manhattan, Kansas, and many loved aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He also maintained close family ties with all his mother†™s husbands and their significant others, happily considering them stepparents, Zane (Ron) Laubhan of Central City, Colorado, and Merlynn (Patti) Bender of Lakewood, Colorado.
