Obituary of Roy Delbert Johnson

Beloved husband, brother, father and grandfather Roy Delbert Johnson, Jr., passed peacefully on June 30, 2022 with his wife of fifty-seven years and his daughter by his side. Roy, the son of Roy Johnson, Sr., and Lola Cameron, was born in Denver, Colorado on May 15, 1944†‹. Roy graduated from Lincoln High School in 1962. He attended the University of Colorado in Boulder where he met his wife, Susan Georgeson. They were married on June 26, 1965. Roy subsequently completed Dental school at the University of Louisville, in Louisville, Kentucky in 1972 and moved back to Denver with his wife and newborn daughter, Jill, to start his dental practice. Roy and Susan had two more children, William (1974) and Samuel (1975). Throughout his life, Roy dedicated the essence of himself to his family. He loved the outdoors and hunting and fishing. He avidly hiked and skied the mountains of Colorado with Susan and he fly fished throughout the world with his children and friends. He was a dedicated, life-long learner who loved to read, try new hobbies, and spend time with the people he loved. Roy is survived by his wife, Susan; his sisters, Donna Long, Nancy Ferguson, and Patty Hogan; his three children, Jill Fischaber (Curtis), William Johnson (Marketa), and Samuel Johnson (Kathleen); and his eight grandchildren, Samuel, Oliver, Ellery, Ema, Daphne, Trevor, Charles, and Lexi. Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Sr. and Lola, and his brother, Gary Johnson. Roy will be deeply missed by his family and friends and the generations of patients he served over his nearly forty-year dental career. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the National Kidney Foundation or the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation. Please join us for a celebration of life for Roy on Friday, July 8th at the Fox Hollow Golf Course (13410 W. Morrison Rd., Lakewood) from 12-4 PM. There will be light appetizers and a cash bar. Dress is smart casual.
