Obituary of Katrina Rohret

Katrina Elizabeth Rohret passed away at her home in Lakewood, CO on July 30, 2022 after a brief battle with stomach cancer.  She was 40 years old.

Katie was born March 10, 1982 in Colorado and grew up in Lakewood.  She graduated from Green Mountain High School and loved being in choir all 4 years.  Later, she received an Associate’s Degree from Arapahoe Junior College.  She worked at various establishments in the Lakewood area before moving to Atlanta, Georgia in 2010 where she worked as a teller for JP Morgan/Chase.  When Katie moved to Atlanta, she was going to help her sister for “one month”.  She made many dear friends while there, so it was ten years later when she moved back to Colorado to be closer to her parents and family during the Covid Pandemic.  Katie had two wonderful years in the Denver area, working as a bank reconciliation specialist for RASI where she had a great, caring work family.  She especially enjoyed spending time with her three young nephews.

Katie is survived by her parents, Matt and Ellen Rohret; grandparents Frank and Edie Royse; sister Jen Jenacova; brother Joe and sister-in-law Renee; brother Ben and sister-in-law Genevieve; and Aunt Sue.  She also leaves behind the joys of her life; nieces Sarah and Caroline, and nephews Finnian, Joe Jr, and Lochlan.  She is also survived by her three sweet cats; Bailey, Bernard, and Charlie.

Katie loved her animals!  When she moved to Atlanta, Jen’s dog Puck immediately decided that he would be Katie’s “wingman” and for several years he was her special companion.  She also volunteered at the Good Mews cat shelter there and adopted four cats to share her home.  Katie often said that she wanted to be an advocate for animals that did not have a voice of their own.  She loved them all.

In keeping with her love for animals, we would like any donations in her name to be made to the Foothills Animal Shelter (foothillsanimalshelter.org), Golden, CO or Good Mews Animal Shelter (www.goodmews.org), Marietta, GA.

A celebration of Katie’s life will be held on August 21 at 3:00 PM in the RASI corporate office, 1101 West Mineral Avenue, Littleton, CO.

An open house will be scheduled in the Atlanta area for her Georgia friends later this Fall.
