Obituary of Robert Vigil

Robert “Bob” Vigil Sr., a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend passed away peacefully on September 2, 2022, at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Lakewood, Colorado. 

 

Bob Vigil is survived by his wife, Sharon Vigil, his four children and their spouses, Bobby and Jamie Vigil, Linda and Joe Atencio, Christina and Steve Martinez, Karen and Rod Marler, his brother, Victor Vigil, his sister Stella Hernandez, and his 15 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. 

 

 Bob was born on April 29, 1943 in Denver, Colorado. As a teenager, Bob was a musician who loved to sing rock and roll and play his guitar in a teen band called the “Ivy Leaguers.” At the age of 18, he married Sharon Vigil in Denver, Colorado. Together, Bob and Sharon had four children and accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior in 1971. Bob had dedicated his life to serving his savior, Jesus Christ. Bob would often minister to others about the love of Jesus through his gospel group, the Kings Men.

 

For over forty years, Bob and Sharon had led Harvest House for Women, a Christian ministry for women and children. Bob was known to love others as if they were family. Bob was a person that everyone wanted to be around as he cared about others, had a great sense of humor, and would often play music for family and friends. 

 

A service will be held to honor the life of Bob Vigil at Redeemer Temple (3701 W 64th Ave, Arvada, CO 80003) on September 23, 2022, at 10:30 AM with a reception to follow at the same location. In place of flowers, please consider donating to the care of Sharon Vigil, donations can be made to the Venmo account of @Bobby-Vigil-1. If you prefer a donation to a charity foundation, please donate to the Denver Rescue Mission where Bob would often volunteer by bringing hope to the hopeless through his gift of music and love for Jesus Christ.
