Sending heartfelt condolences and love to the family of "Miss Goldie".
I lived across the street from Miss Goldie in Arvada and we continued our friendship even after I moved away from Colorado. The thing I remember the most is her love and hospitality-she always had something cooked or baked- a meal, a snack or cup of tea; she opened up her home, and her heart, and made me feel like I was at home and part of the family, even praying for me "like I do my kids".
For me she was more than a friend and neighbor, she was so wise, a true biblical Proverbs 31 Woman of Valor:
An accomplished woman who can find? Her value is far beyond rubies. Her husband's heart trusts in her, and he lacks nothing valuable. She brings him good and not harm all the days of her life. She selects wool and flax and her hands work willingly. She is like merchant ships, bringing her sustenance from afar. She rises while it is still night and provides food for her household and portions for her (servant) girls. She considers a field and buys it. From the fruit of her hands she plants a vineyard. She girds herself with strength and invigorates her arms. She discerns that her business is good. Her lamp never goes out at night. She extends her hands to the spindle and her palm grasps the spinning wheel. She spreads out her palms to the poor, and extends her hands to the needy. She is not afraid of snow for her house, for her whole household is clothed in scarlet wool. She makes her own luxurious coverings. Her clothing is fine linen and purple. Her husband is respected at the city gates, when he sits among the elders of the land. She makes linen garments and sells them and supplies sashes to the merchants. Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the days to come. She opens her mouth with wisdom--a lesson of kindness is on her tongue. She watches over the affairs of her household, and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children arise and bless her, her husband also praises her: "Many daughters have excelled, but you surpass them all." Charm is deceitful and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the LORD will be praised. Give her the fruit of her hands. Let her deeds be her praise at the gates. (verses 10-31)
I love and miss you Miss Goldie, but I know I will see you again in Heaven because Jesus is Our Savior, and now He is your King. You are HOME with The Father. Marlene J.

Our heart breaks as we lost Aunt Goldie. She was someone who was so dear to our family. She was such a strong Christian, a pillar in her church and took care of everyone around her. She loved God since she was 16 years old and lived her life accordingly. She reminded me so much of my dad. We enjoyed the camping and fishing trips we went on together. I talked to her weekly and it was a blessing for my family to have her in our life. She was always interesting and knew so much about everything even current events. She loved gardening. We always talked about what we were planting and freezing for the winter. More recently, she would ask what I had planted in the garden and how work was going. She always had sound advice. Aunt Goldie prayed for me and each one of my siblings and my kids by name every single day. She didn't end a conversation without saying she loved me and our family. We are going to miss her and her positive outlook. She was a wonderful person and truly one of a kind.
We loved her dearly….
