OBITUARY OF LOUISE WENTE MANGELS

Louise Wente Mangels, age 104, passed away quietly in Lakewood, Colorado on August 31, 2022.

Louise is survived by her three children, Leighton Mangels, Jr. (Louise) of North Plains, Oregon; Marilyn Dale (Larry) of Denver, Colorado; and Mary Heise (Dave) of Tampa, Florida; five grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband (Leighton Mangels, Sr.) and her three siblings.

Born May 21, 1918 in Palatine, Illinois, Louise lived most of her life in Palatine and Brookfield, Wisconsin, before moving to Denver in her 80’s. She was an active church-goer, a master rummage-sale organizer, an excellent Bridge player, a skilled knitter of clothing articles for charity and family, and she possessed a phenomenal memory. Always kind and thoughtful, she had many good friends and could make anyone she talked to feel as if they’d known her for years. We will all miss her comfort, wisdom, and humor.
