She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Raymond E Best, Jr. and her daughter Kathy (Charlie), her granddaughters Halleen Lockhart and Anna Lockhart, her grandson, Mathew Lockhart and her nephew Fred Andrews and niece Jennifer Woolford; niece Helen Maib and nephews David Maib (Mary) and Doug Maib (Toni).

She was preceded in Death by: Her son, Ray Best III; her parents Cyril Case Dedrick and Grace Erwin Dedrick; and sisters; Margaret; the twins Marian Maib and Helen Horine and her nephews Steve Horine and Bobby Maib.

As a child she lived in St Louis, Missouri and Wichita, KS. She graduated from Wichita East HS in 1959. She graduated from Doane University in Crete, NE in 1962. It was here that she met and married her husband on December 30th, 1960. They had two children; Kathy and Ray. They moved to Colorado in 1976. She taught in Aurora Public Schools for 17 years and retired in 1995. During those years she completed her master’s degree in library media at the University of Colorado-Denver.

She loved Jesus and her family most of all, but also knitting, reading, her pets and anything to do with the outdoors.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, April 24th, 2023 at 10 am at Flatirons Community Church-Denver located at 2700 S. Downing Street, Denver, CO 80210.
