Obituary of Dolores Agnes Martin (Toller)

Dolores Agnes Martin (Toller), 92, of Golden, Co. passed away in her home on January 2, 2023.

Dolores was born on October 22, 1930 in Denver, Co. She spent her youngest years in an orphanage in Denver until the age of 7 under the alias of Arnold until she relocated to Trinidad to work at the Bear Canyon Mine. She graduated from Trinidad High School in 1948. She attended Trinidad Junior College and graduated in 1950 with her degree in clerical work. She went back to college for a teaching degree and was a teacher for miners’ children in Bear Canyon. She moved to Denver, where she met and married Robert Martin. Their adventures together took them to California where she taught school in Gold Run and he worked on the construction of i-80. In 1966, they moved to Golden and shared their love of outdoors and adventure with their children Robert, Richard, Michael and Mary.

As a devoted Catholic and active community member of Golden, Co for 57 years, Dolores was involved in many clubs, including the American Legion, the Red Hat Society, Lions Club and the Sewing Guild. She worked at Coors for 12 years and COBE Laboratories for 18.  She loved gardening and spending time with her family, friends and neighbors.
She is a beloved Grandmother to 8 grandchildren , 9 great grandchildren , and 1 great, great grandchild.
