Obituary of Jewell Margaret Gallagher

Jewell Margaret Gallagher (McMahon) departed this life peacefully in the early hours of Thursday, January 12, 2023. Jewell was ninety-five. Jewell was born to Margaret (Molly) and Robert (Bob) McMahon in Sydney, Australia. Jewell was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband, William C. Gallagher (Bill). Jewell retired from a career in the fashion industry as a sales associate in the Couture Salon of Neiman Marcus. She enjoyed sewing and was an excellent seamstress, tailoring many of her daughter’s outfits. Jewell was an avid bridge player, enjoyed golf, and was involved in the arts as a marionettist as well as acting in a local drama club. Jewell enjoyed her annual trips to Australia where she attended horse races, went to social events with her sister and spent time on the beaches. Tina and Jewell had many fun adventures as they traveled throughout Europe, enjoying some of the most well-known art galleries across the globe. Jewell was known for her fashion sense, quick wit and determination. She is survived by her twin sister, Bettina McMahon; her daughters, Erica Gallagher and Kerrie Gallagher Weir (Mark); son Derek Gallagher (Janice); three grandchildren; three great grandchildren and her niece, Nicola Price.
