Berniece Fair

Obituary of Berniece Ann Fair

Berniece Ann Fair (nee Lou) was born in Janesville, Wisconsin on September 13, 1928. She was the only daughter of Dorothy and Harold Lou; she had one brother, Laverne.

On September 8th, 1951 she married her husband, David Eugene Fair, whom she enjoyed 53 years of marriage with before David’s death in May 2005. In 1956 they had their daughter, Diana and in 1959 their son, Daniel.

Berniece was a fiercely independent woman who was passionate about her community, her career and her family. She was engaged with Arvada Presbyterian Church, quilting guilds and sewing groups and ran her own business, “A Quilting Affair” for several years before moving to Quilter’s Newsletter Magazine for the final years before her retirement.

She was a gifted quilter who created dozens of quilts throughout her life, gifting them to friends and family and donating them to her local community.

Berniece is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Laverne and his wife Gloria; her husband, David; his parents, Leslie and “Peg” Fair; and her son Daniel in 2018. She is survived by her daughter, Diana and her husband, Tom; and Daniel’s wife, Lee Ann; as well as nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

The family requests donations be sent to Community of Grace Church (formerly Arvada Presbyterian Church) in lieu of flowers.
