Obituary of Sherry Tremont Newby

Sherry Tremont Newby, of Denver, Colorado, beloved wife of Kevin Newby, passed away on Friday, February 10, 2023, at the age of 63. In addition to her husband, Sherry is survived by her sisters, Valerie Journeigan (Robert) of Palmyra, NJ; Linda Eaton (Bruce) of Clarence, NY; and Tammy Cargile (Ron) of Arvada, CO. She was preceded in death by her sister Lisa Tremont of Virginia Beach, VA. Sherry also leaves behind her stepsons, Brett Newby (Jamie) and Brian Newby, and loving nieces, Perri Koutrotsios (Chris), Noelle Journeigan, and Tanna Ives; and nephews, Alex Eaton and Michael Wildhagen.

Born in Beverly Hills, and raised in Hull, Massachusetts, Sherry was a powerhouse saleswoman in her younger years, excelling first in automotive sales, and later in real estate. A long-time resident of Denver, Sherry enjoyed travel (let’s go to the beach!) and visiting some of the local casinos and restaurants, but above all, Sherry enjoyed relationships. She was always a sympathetic soul, ready to listen, dispense wisdom, and then make you laugh.

Sherry will be remembered for her razor-sharp wit, her amazing culinary skills (think cheesecake) and above all her overwhelmingly generous spirit.

A celebration of life in Sherry’s honor will be held on Monday, Feb. 20 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at Aspen Mortuaries, 6580 East 73rd Ave., Commerce City, CO. 80022

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Saint Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
