Obituary of Brenda Schultheis

Brenda S Schultheis (Kendrick) (12/28/1960 – 02/21/2023)

On February 21st, 2023, at the age of 62, Brenda Sue Schultheis passed away surrounded by family, at a hospital in Lakewood, Colorado, attended to by very caring doctors, and nurses, who helped her pass painlessly. Among her relatives, she was preceded by her mother and father, Edith and James Kendrick respectively, her brother-in-law Phil MacDonald, and her eldest brother Michael Kendrick. She is survived by her husband, James Schultheis, whom she married in May of 1984, and two sons, Bryan and Greg Schultheis. Her siblings and their spouses, nieces and nephews (of which she had many) on both sides of her family, shall all carry the memory of a loving daughter, caring sister, successful mother, and great friend who left us all with fond memories which we shall all cherish.

She received her early education in Arkansas, continuing through college and earning an Associates of Arts, before settling to work in medical billing and coding, while raising her two sons, with the help of her husband, James, and the more-than-occasional help of her own parents and relatives. While her husband was off on deployment for the Army, she took to the life of a military wife with knowledge of her duties, both to the home, and her community. After their retirement from the military, and her family moving to Colorado, she continued maintaining her home with her family’s help, accepting visits from family and friends, maintaining her southern culture of welcoming, and making sure her guests and friends were well received, family was loved, and everyone had a full stomach.

Though medical ailments plagued her these last few years, she made sure everyone she loved, knew such, taught her sons the lessons they would need in life, and that she was there for her family when they needed it, even if she couldn’t make it physically. While she wasn’t able to travel to see everyone she wanted, the advent of modern technology, made it easy for her to talk with those she loved no matter where in the country they were. The world lost a great person in mind and heart, but her family, relatives, and friends shall remember the loving, caring, and generous person she was in her life, and shall deeply miss her.
