Letha Potter

Obituary of Letha Charlotte Potter

Letha Charlotte Potter, 94, of Golden, Colorado passed away peacefully on February 21, 2023, in Arvada, Colorado.

Letha was an only child born on October 31, 1928, to Ruth and Edgar Shaw in Rifle, Colorado and immediately brought joy and laughter into their world. She went on to graduate from Campion Academy in 1947. She continued her education at a business college and learned secretarial and bookkeeping skills which led her to a career in bookkeeping for several years at family-owned S&P Construction Company. Letha also worked for Jefferson County Schools in the cafeteria at Golden High School and as a school bus driver while she raised her family. Well into her 90’s it was her passion to walk four to five miles at Colorado Mills where she enjoyed coffee with her friends afterwards.

Letha had three children in her first marriage before marrying the love of her life, George Albert Potter on May 18, 1957, and together they went on to have three children. Letha was a wonderful and loving mom raising six children and we will never be able to fill the space left behind by her.

Letha was predeceased by her father Edgar, her mother Ruth, her husband George, and her youngest son Richard Potter. She is survived by five children Kip Holdren, Peggy Lloyd, Rhonda Biernetzky, Dianne Aiken and David Potter. She has 12 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

At her request there will be no services and she will be laid to rest at Fort Logan Cemetery beside her husband.
