Anita Woltemath

Obituary of Anita Jean Woltemath

Anita Jean Woltemath was born to Anna and William Gadow on February 10, 1930 in the town of Western NE. Anita was baptized at the Western Methodist Church. After graduating High School in Western NE, Anita moved to Lincoln where she worked as a secretary and lived with her girlfriends from High School.

One night at a University of Nebraska Basketball game, Anita met the love of her life Gerald H. Woltemath. They were united in marriage January 26, 1950 and celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary before Gary’s passing on October 30, 2000.

While living in Lincoln, Anita enjoyed Interior Design while working at Nelson Tile & Carpet. Anita and Gary enjoyed card clubs, square dancing, and socializing with their many friends and raising their children Steven, Sharon and Suzann.

In November 1973, Gary’s job took them to Colorado. Anita started selling Avon. She sold for over thirty years and she also assisted in group management. Gary and Anita became active in the American Legion and the Elks Lodge in Arvada, and Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Lakewood, and were blessed with new friends and neighbors. They always enjoyed hosting many family members and friends who came to visit them in Colorado.

While living in Arvada, Gary and Anita were blessed with two grandchildren in Lincoln, Jesse and Zach Woltemath. They visited the boys in Lincoln as often as possible and they were overjoyed when the boys came to visit them in Colorado. They were later blessed with three more grandchildren, Hunter, Margaret and Colter Olsen. Anita was a doting Grandmother to say the least! They were an essential part of her life and gave her purpose, and she gave them unconditional love.

Anita is survived by her son Steven and wife Angie Woltemath of Lincoln, and daughters Sharon Aydelott of Wheat Ridge, Suzann and husband Eric Olsen of Lakewood, five grandchildren, sisters-in-law Eldred Woltemath and Beverly George, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Anita was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Gerald, by her sisters and brothers-in law; Viola and Ed Gross, Ruth and Lester Butt/Leo Prokop, Margaret and Lawrence Nickel; and brothers and sisters in law, Laverne and Eileen Woltemath, Theodore and Mary Woltemath, Arleen and Leland Krueger, Leland Woltemath.
