Obituary of Evelyn Jean Hunzelman

OBITUARY OF EVELYN JEAN HUNZELMAN

Evelyn Jean (Ursetta) Hunzelman, age 91, gained her angel wings on May 18, 2023, at Ralston Creek Neighborhood, in Arvada, Colorado, after an unexpected and short battle with lung cancer.

She was born on April 10, 1932, in Denver, Colorado to Jack and Mary Ursetta and was the fifth of nine children. She was born during the depression and while life was tough, the Ursetta household was always filled with the wonderful aroma of Italian food and an abundance of laughter. Which is where Evelyn inherited her great cooking skills and her zest to live life to the fullest.

She attended Bryant Webster grade school, and Horace Mann Junior High. She started working at the May Company of Denver at the age of 16 to help support the family. She went on to work at other department stores before landing a job at the International Harvester. It was there that she met and fell in love with the man who came to repair the copy machine, Dale Hunzelman. After dating for three years, the two were married on April 27, 1958. Once they decided to start a family, Evelyn was a devoted and loving mother to her two daughters and their dog, Pookie. After her daughters grew up, she was excited to add to the family and share her love with her two sons-in-law and grandchildren.

Evelyn is survived by her husband, Dale; two daughters, Cheri Sneith (Gary) and Carla English (Dom); three grandchildren, Cory Sneith, Taylor Sneith (Alarie) and Max English and two great grandchildren, Paxtyn and Lilah Sneith. She is also survived by her sisters, Eleanor McAtee and Mary Lou Ursetta. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Pam, Jack, Albert, JoAnn, Gene and Richard.

From beginning to end, Evelyn lived her life to the fullest. She was an amazing wife, mother and grandmother who always had a big smile and warm hug for everyone. Her life and the love and laughter she brought to us will never be forgotten. She will remain in our hearts forever.
